RICHIE THORPE

Richie is not only a great Musician but a very creative and dynamic Song Writer, Arranger, Producer and Recording Engineer.  Having studied music theory and arrangement contributes to his diversity on his music productions.  

Richie sings and plays different instruments, piano, bass, however guitar being his main instrument.

Richie began his stage career at the age of 11 playing music with his two brothers.  At 15, he appeared playing solo guitar in a band on BBC Television.  The show starred Shirley Eaton (golden girl in Gold Finger) Caravan.   The band was called Ray Dexter & the Sunsets.

After studying drama Richie has appeared in some musicals playing a lead role as Flash Gordon in the Space Fantasy - The end of the World Show, the production by the Tricycle Company.  Richie started touring with his band in France and Germany and later Sweden, Norway, Denmark and America and played in the casinos in Portugal and Switzerland,  and of course in England.

 

Richie has worked as a session musician in Tin Pan Alley, Soho.  He has been heard on countless Radio and TV shows, including Top of the Pops.  he has made many records and toured extensively with bands such as "Johny Johnson & the Bandwagon", "Jimmy James & the Vagabonds", Mike Berry & the Outlaws", Sugar Pie de Santo", "Moon Stone", "P P Arnold", "Life", "Clem Curtis of the Foundations" and "Howie G & the G Men". 

 

Richie has recorded various artists at his CONTROL ROOM STUDIO, a diverse amount of styles including some Latin Bands such as the Cuban All Stars featuring the infamous Ibrahim Ferrer, Compay Segundo, Omara Portuondo and Manuel "Puntillita" Licea.
